About Me
I have worked with hundreds of children and families for more than two decades in private practice, schools, primary care pediatrics, and community-based organizations. I completed my Ph.D. in School/Child Psychology from New York University and my pre-doctoral clinical internship at Mount Sinai's Child & Adolescent Psychiatry clinic in New York City. I received my B.A. in Psychology from Barnard College, where I did research and fieldwork at the Toddler Center for Child Development.
Prior to starting my current practice, I worked for eight years as a specialist in the HealthySteps program, a national model of preventative infant and toddler mental health care integrated into primary care pediatrics. Until recently, I was a clinical specialist in the HealthySteps program at Bellevue Hospital in New York, where I helped lead the implementation of a novel maternal-child initiative called 3-2-1 IMPACT. There, I served as Assistant Clinical Professor within the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine, supervising and teaching psychology interns and medical residents. In 2016, I co-created the first HealthySteps program in Brooklyn at One Brooklyn Health - Brookdale Hospital, where I served as a clinical specialist and Program Director until 2020. I also held an Assistant Professor position in the Department of Pediatrics where I taught medical residents. I enjoyed my close collaboration with pediatricians as we sought to integrate a developmental, behavioral, and relational lens into the medical visits.

Earlier in my career, I worked at Montefiore Medical Center's School-Based Mental Health Program in a Bronx elementary school. There, I provided individual, family and group therapy, helped implement evidence-based treatments for children with anxiety and behavioral problems, and collaborated with administrators and staff to implement a school-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports program.
My clinical experience has been bolstered by extensive post-doctoral education and supervision. I did postgraduate work in infant, child, and family studies in New York, studying with seasoned therapists who viewed clinical work through a developmental, attachment and psychodynamic lens. I also received training in evidence-based modalities such as Child-Parent Psychotherapy, Incredible Years, and Coping Cat for Anxiety, which I integrate into my clinical practice. Additionally, my strong interest in supporting new mothers led me to seek advanced training in Perinatal Mental Health Disorders from the Seleni Institute and Postpartum Support International (PSI).
Finally, being an advocate for children has always been important to me. I serve as a board member of the New York Zero to Three Network, a statewide organization that supports the early childhood workforce. I am also a board member of the Children’s Law Center, a nonprofit organization which provides legal services to children in New York City. I also serve on the Steering Committee of the Strong Starts Court Initiative, a program at the Center for Justice Innovation.
